Just a couple of interesting articles I read.
The first about print versus ebook sales:
According to an analysis done by Publisher’s Weekly of data reported to Nielsen Bookscan, print book sales are expected to rise for the first time since 2008. This reflects the recent trend that ebook sales are levelling out at around 30% of total sales in America.
I generally prefer print books, but I read mostly ebooks because most of what I read is review books. I do go out of my way to buy print copies (when they exist) of any books I particularly enjoyed.
I try to give books as gifts. We have a good vintage bookshop here, so not all of the books that have been given and received in my family are new, but I’m now the owner of some fascinating old books!
By the way, the picture is of Selfridges in London in 1942.
