Here in Canberra we’ve had cool nights, but gorgeous, warm days (see yesterday afternoon on the lake, above!). But they’ve been doing back-burning (fire reduction burns – which means controlled burns of the national parks) all week. So we’ve had the smell of fire in the air every evening. If you’re like me and were in the middle of the horrific 2003 Canberra bushfires, it’s always a bit creepy…
