Get out alive…
Amber needs one SEAL to help her escape. Charlie makes it clear he wants to protect and hold her close. But his brother and explosions expert, Willy, wants her too…and he’s willing to share.
This is the second in a series, and I’ve not read the first. I do think they’re best read in order, because all the characters from the last book are back in this one and they play a big part in the plot.
Romantic suspense has taken a pretty extreme turn recently. From an entertainment perspective, it’s great fun because the action is constant and it’s a real adventure. I was getting sick of all the books where everyone sat around agonising over their feelings!
However, this new style of book is also quite silly. For example, in this one hero and heroine are in the water in Victoria Harbour and are surrounded by terrorists. What do they do? They start making out, of course! This is the sort of thing I really don’t like about the genre.
The men in this series are SEALs in name, if not in their actions. They’re pretty unprofessional!
In the end, this is great fun, and I see that the series has plenty of fans.
I just don’t think it’s for me.
