Twenty Years Ago…


It is the twentieth anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. For many, it was one of those moments in history where they remember exactly where they were when they heard the news. (I was in the ballet studio; my brother called the office to tell us – back before we all had mobile phones and instant news!)

It’s astonishing she was only thirty-six when she died.

When I was last at Kensington Palace – earlier this year – there were still tributes to her at the gates. Nothing like below:

These photographs were taken at dusk and are of flowers and tributes left at Kensington Palace soon after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales on 31 Aug 1997. 1st September.

However, people still left messages and flowers and pictures.
