Goodbye, 2019.

The only thing on many Australians’ minds as the year comes to an end is that our entire country is on fire. Canberra is finishing the year blanketed in smoke and suffering through a severe heatwave, and for some of the day we had an out of control bushfire five minutes from us.

The New South Wales South Coast, where many (most?) Canberrans either have holiday homes or have visited many times, is ablaze, with people evacuated to the beaches and the entire landscape burnt away.

We need a miracle for 2020.

People need to work together for real change, stop voting against their self-interests and stand up to the wealthy who are decimating this planet for their own short-term gain. So yeah, we definitely need a miracle.

It’s absolutely horrendous what’s happening to the country. I hope things will change. I hope this will finally wake Australian adults up to the reality that action needs to be taken now. We can’t wait any longer.

Wishing you all the best for 2020. I don’t always get to comment but I greatly enjoy your posts. And good luck with your book, hope it’s a bestseller.

    1. Thanks for the comment. 🙂 I never know if the nonsense I post matters!

Some of the politicians’ reactions to this disaster have been shameful. What happened on the NSW South Coast really hit hard – I’ve been spending time there all life, and watching it unfold … Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, it did.
